When several people work with the same customers, separate copies become difficult to manage. A shared database lets everyone work from the same records and maintain relationship continuity.

The Network licence covers up to five PCs on the business’s local network. The central file is installed in a suitable location on your premises. Each PC must be able to access that location.

Local access brings the team together

This arrangement does not rely on a database-hosting subscription. You know which computer or server stores it and define access within your own environment.

Losing the internet does not prevent local work as long as the internal network and database host remain available. A failure of the central computer must, however, be accounted for in your planning.

Prepare a consistent installation

• Identify a stable central computer accessible to authorised users.
• Check the required read and write permissions.
• Arrange consistent backups of the shared database.
• Test simultaneous access with fictional data before real use.

Technical sharing and simultaneous-access behaviour must be checked against the distributed version and chosen installation. Network use is more than simply copying a file onto several PCs.

The price is for a perpetual licence to the purchased version. It is not multiplied by the number of users within the five-PC limit. Future major versions and support services may be offered separately.
