Prospective
Your data stays yours

Your customer database
belongs in your business.

Choosing local storage reduces your dependence on a third-party host. You control where your database lives, who can access it and how it is backed up.

You know where your data lives

Prospective stores contact records and follow-up information on your computer or local network. Your customer database is not hosted in a SaaS account managed by BMCore. Its location depends on your installation and your business choices.

This is a tangible way of working: identify the computer hosting the database, manage access permissions and choose your backup media. Stay directly in control of your files.

Less dependence on third-party servers

A database that is not entrusted to an online platform is not exposed to incidents specific to that platform’s hosting: service outages, compromise of a remote account or leaks of its central database. You also reduce the number of parties processing your customer records.

Local storage is a choice about control and independence. Keep viewing and updating contacts without waiting for a remote service to come back online.

Security also depends on your habits

Local storage does not make data invulnerable. Drive failure, computer theft and malware remain possible. Protect the computer, limit access and keep several backup copies.

  • Use a maintained operating system and keep it updated.
  • Protect Windows accounts and lock unattended computers.
  • Keep an offline backup and test restoration.
Encryption: an essential distinction. Enhanced database encryption, automatic locking and encrypted backups are product roadmap objectives. They are not advertised here as protections already included in the current demo.

Keep control over time

A perpetual licence protects your right to use the purchased version without mandatory renewals. Your data does not become unavailable because a subscription ends. Keep your installer, licence details and backups to support business continuity.

You remain responsible for the personal data you record. Collect only the necessary information, restrict access to the right people and define an appropriate retention period. Choosing local software is not, by itself, a guarantee of regulatory compliance.
